There’s something deeply human about the hero…the champion…the great hope. We project our emotions, ourselves, and our dreams on these men and women, who through a combination of determination and circumstance are transformed from someone just looking to break through to someone everyone is talking about.

For those who were distracted this past week and don’t recognize the name, Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks basketball team fits that bill.
